The same low fares. The same monthly passes.

Your TAP card is a payment method that works in one of three ways - you can load cash value, load a monthly pass, or both. See how you can customize the TAP card in a way that works best for you!

Norwalk Transit System Cash Value on TAP

Load cash value to your TAP card to pay your fare on Norwalk Transit System (NTS), and your fare will be deducted from your stored cash balance each time you ride, freeing you up from carrying around exact change. Anytime your balance gets low, simply replenish your TAP card with cash value at NTS Customer Service. NTS does not have any monthly passes for its bus system.

  Adult (Base) Fare: $0.90
  Student Fare (K-12): $0.60
  Senior Fare (62+) / Disabled Fare: $0.35
  Local Transfer: $0.25

Inter-agency Transfer: $0.50 (Adult, Student, Senior and Disabled)

Metro Passes on TAP

Although NTS only accepts the Metro EZ transit pass on its buses, you can load the following Metro passes on a TAP card at NTS Customer Service Center:

  Adult Monthly Pass
  Adult Weekly Pass
  Senior / Disabled Monthly Pass
  K-12 Student Monthly Pass
  College / Vocational Monthly Pass
  Day Pass
  Senior / Disabled Day Pass

Adult EZ transit Monthly Pass and Senior and Disabled EZ transit Monthly Pass are not yet available on TAP.

Cash Value / Monthly Pass on TAP

You can load cash value to your TAP card to ride on NTS, add a Metro Pass to ride Metro, or add a valid pass from another participating TAP municipal transit system to ride their bus, all on the same TAP card!
